Zero Restore, with zero costs and zero time
Zoolz Cold Storage leverages Amazon Glacier to store rarely accessed files; retrieving these files will take 3-5 hours per request, also restoring large amounts of files from Amazon Glacier results in hidden costs of thousands of dollars. Therefore, the Zoolz team created an innovative way to restore from Amazon Glacier without additional fees; by leveraging Cold Storage. Cold Storage prioritizes restoring from Hybrid+ local repository and if the file is not available, it will only request it using the free restore quota from Amazon Glacier; saving time, bandwidth and additional costs.
How does it work?
- You select the files you wish to restore from the Desktop Restore Wizard
- Using Hybrid+, it restores all available files from the local repository; ensuring immediate recovery.
- In the meantime, it requests files missing from the local repository from online Cold Storage
- Once the online files are ready, Zoolz restore will automatically restore them to their correct locations.
- If you shutdown your computer, the restore will resume silently without any intervention.
